LOCATION
What to do and see in the
local area
• Puerto Alcudia is in the North East of Majorca only 40
minutes drive from the island’s airport in Palma.
• The town gets its name from the old town of Alcudia, a picturesque
village built on the site of the Roman settlement of Pollentia,
full of narrow cobbled lanes with interesting shops and country
markets to explore.
• With 11 kms of soft, gently shelving sands, the beach is
a must for sun worshippers and young families.
Shopping
• Every Tuesday and Sunday morning there is a market in the
old town of Alcudia which is great for a bargain!
• Around the marina next to the apartment are some wonderful
designer boutiques with all the leading fashion houses from Armani
to Dolce and Gabanna.
• Home of all leather goods, you will find great shoes, clothes
and handbags at very reasonable prices – particularly if you
take a short trip to one of the many leather factory outlets.
Sports & Activities
• Watersports are what Alcudia is all about and boats, wind
surfers and jet skis are all available for hire.
• The flat land around the apartment makes it a perfect location
for biking and there are many places from which you can hire a bike.
• There are many bars and restaurants a stones throw from
the apartment serving snack food to “a la carte”.
• There are 2 outstanding 18 hole golf courses within 10 minutes
of the apartment – one brand new one in Alcudia and the famous
course at Puerto Pollentia, great for a round of golf or a spot
of lunch.
• Just 5 minutes from the apartment is the biggest and best
waterpark on the island.
Other Places of Interest
• In contrast, Puerto Alcudia is overlooked by dramatic mountains
and a very rugged landscape if it’s exploring and “off
roading” that takes your fancy.
• Nearby, be sure to visit Palma – Marjorca’s
historic capital with its Gothic Cathedral; Port de Soller –
take the vintage electric tram through the mountains to reach this
picturesque town and the Caves of Drach – home of some of
the world’s most stunning rock formations and where you can
take a ride on a gondola across an underground lake enjoying the
sound of classical music.
